バラの季節になりました。

湧永満之記念庭園を再訪です。
It is a revisit of the Wakunaga Manji memorial garden.

入園無料とあって、老若男女問わず沢山の人が訪れています。
Because entering is free, there are a lot of people irrespective of age or sex.

写真を撮るのに、苦労しました。
It was difficult for me to take photographs.

forget time 時間を忘れろ

I got red roses.
赤いバラをもらいました。

They were brought up by a friend of my mother.
母親の友人が育てたものです。

I displayed them on the desk in my room.
自室の机に飾ってみました。

So, a desk became bright.
おかげで、机が明るくなりました。

八重垣神社 鏡の池 The pond of the mirror

本殿裏の森にある「鏡の池」では、出逢いの時期と相手を占うことができます。

In "the pond of the mirror" of the back of the main shrine, we can know the time and the partner of the encounter.

何も書かれていない紙に硬貨を乗せて、池に浮かべます。

We put a coin on the paper which nothing is written and float it on the pond.

しばらくすると、紙に文字が浮き出てきます。

１５分以内に沈めば出逢いの時期は早く、近くで沈めば身近にいる人ということらしいです。

筍料理 Bamboo shoot food

朝堀りの筍をいただいたので、土佐煮と筍御飯を作ってみました。

I made "the boiled like Tosa" and "the boiled rice with bamboo shoots", because I got bamboo shoots which were dug this morning.

土佐煮というのは、鰹節と一緒に炊いた煮物のことを言います。

"The boiled like Tosa" is the cooking used dried bonito for.

新鮮でアクがなく柔らかいので、薄めに味付しました。

They were fresh, and not lye, and soft, so I seasoned a little.

先月の大相撲大阪場所のとき、お茶屋さんのお土産に付いてた小鉢に盛ってみました。

I served it in a small bowl of the souvenir which I was given by the middleman at time of the Osaka sumo tournament last month.

筍御飯をよそったＭＹ茶碗は萩焼きで、永地博正さんという作家さんのものです。

My rice bowl is a work of Hiromasa Nagatochi in Hagi ceramic ware.

姫さま my princess

バレエ教室に私より５歳年上の人がいます。

There is the woman who is 5 years old older than me in the ballet classroom.

とても綺麗で、先生たちも羨ましがるくらいです。

She is very beautiful and is admired by teachers.

体も柔らかく、まるでバレエをするために生まれてきたような人です。

She has a pliant body too as if has been born for ballet.

とても上品で、かつては「姫さま」と呼ばれていました。

She was very graceful and therefore was ever called "a princess".

私は姉のように慕って、バレエの目標にしました。

I adored her like an older sister and set a target of ballet.

姫さまは恵まれた才能のおかげで、これまで怪我らしい怪我をしたことがありませんでした。

Thanks to natural talent, she has not been hurt in ballet so far.

でも、そんな姫さまが先週のレッスン中、右のふくらはぎに怪我をしたのです。

However, she was hurt in the calf of her right leg during a lesson last week.

病院の診断の結果、肉離れでした。

やはり姫さまでさえも年齢には逆らえないんですね。

白滝伝説「恋し岩」（重井の民話より）
Shirataki's legend "the rock of love"

昔々、重井の村に気立ての優しい可愛い娘と身体の大きなカの強い、立派な若者が居り、ニ人は恋に落ち、結婚を誓いました。
Once upon a time there were the good-natured pretty girl and the strong excellent boy at the village of Shigei. They fell in love and promised marriage.


そんな時、相撲の巡業が村を訪れ、素質を見込まれた若者は「三年間待ってくれ、立派な相撲取りになって迎えに帰る。」と言い残し、上方へと旅立ちました。
A provincial tour of the sumo visited the village at that time. He was found talent. And he left such words and left for Osaka.
"Please wait for three years. I will come back for meeting you when I become an excellent sumo wrestler."


娘は若者を信じて待ちましたが、約束の三年も過ぎてしまい悲嘆にくれ、海に身を投げて死んでしまいました。
She believed him and waited. However, three years of the promise passed. She who was crushed with grief threw the body to the sea and died.


一方、若者は一所懸命に修行に励み「白滝」と名乗る一人前の力士になりました。

娘を連れに村に帰った若者は、娘が身を投げて死んだことを知りました。
He returned to the village to go to meet her. He realized that she has thrown herself and died.


深く嘆き悲しむ枕元に、ある夜、白滝山の観音様がお立ちになり、そのお告げにより、若者は深浦の浜で、身投げをした娘の化身の岩を見つけ、五十貫はあろうかというその岩を、一人で山の頂へ運び観音堂に奉り、その後一生をかけて供養しました。
One night, the Kannon of Mt. Shirataki stood by his pillow that grieved deeply. By the divine message, he found the rock of her incarnation at the beach of Fukaura that she threw herself. He carried alone the rock guessed at 50kan(about 187.5kg) to the top of the mountain. And he enshrined the rock to Kannondo and he held a service all his life.

実は、尾道でも大相撲の地方巡業が行われたことがあります。

In fact, the provincial tour of sumo has been held on Onomichi.

平成１０年のことです。

It was in 1998.

残念ながら、私は覚えていません。

Unfortunately I do not remember it.

横綱は、貴乃花関、曙関、若乃花関です。

Yokozuna is Takanohana , Akebono, and Wakanohana.

千代大海関はまだ関脇で、魁皇関にいたっては平幕です！

Chiyotaikai was still Sekiwake, and Kaiou was Hiramaku !

貴闘力関は関脇に名前があります。

As for Takatouriki, a name appeared in Sekiwake.

１２年前からずっと上位で活躍し続けてるなんて、すごい！
