「立合い」について About a match start

取組が始まる瞬間を「立合い」といいます。
Sumo for the moment of a match start is "Tachiai".


相撲では「立合い」を決める人はいません。
In the sumo, nobody decides "Tachiai".


行事は進行を促すだけです。
"gyoji" (a sumo referee) only lets a match go.


では、どうやって取組を開始するのか。
Then how is the match started?


見合っている力士同士が「阿吽の呼吸」で決めるのです。
Sumo wrestlers facing decide it in "Aunno-kokyu(the same wavelength)".


互いの気持ちが頂点に達した瞬間が、「立合い」です。
The moment when each other's feelings reached to the top is "Tachiai".
